“Very good”

It was very good. Only low mark was because mattress wasn’t great.

“location just perfect, and simplicity, beautiful grounds, would have liked time to explore more.”

Great staff! Cannot say good enough things about that! I asked for a fan (due to AuDHD need the sound to sleep): no problem; asked to borrow an umbrella (didn't want to get wet going to my job interview): no problem; leaving your bag after check-out for a while: no problem. All were very kind and lovely. They were also kind enough to put me in a building/room at a quiet section due to my autism. It was lovely and quiet, although it was summer vacation so the place was not overrun with students (no idea what the area is like otherwise). The room was more than fine (I had just lived in student accommodation for 3 years), double bed, towels, kettle and tea/coffee. Bathroom not the biggest (also not necessary) but nice big shower and one with enough power. Bed was comfortable (which is saying something as I HATE sleeping in a bed- I usually sleep with my mattress on the floor). Fantastic location right next to Durham Cathedral and a few minutes walk to plenty of places to eat and drink- including a Tesco Express and Sainsbury Local for some groceries. Also, while very steep, wonderful place to walk under the trees next to the river. Breakfast was more than adequate but not as elaborate than in a real hotel. Now, not a problem for me whatsoever, just wanted to make sure people who do want more, need to book elsewhere. There there was toast, croissants, cheese and one other type of meat I believe, yoghurt and cornflakes/muesli, then there was a full English breakfast. There were different types of coffee, tea, milk and orange juice. Again, more than fine.

“This is superior student accommodation, in an excellent location.”

The room I was staying in had been recently refurbished and was clean and comfortable. Staff were very helpful. The cooked breakfast was excellent, eaten in the superb surroundings of a historic college dining room.

The breakfast was very varied and generous. The location was terrific - right by the East end of the cathedral, and very quiet.

“Clean and comfortable stay.”

The location was excellent for visiting the Cathedral and castle. The college was clean, quiet and staff very pleasant.

The breakfast was good and the dining room was a nice location in which to eat it. It was great to have access to the garden. And the location was excellent. Some interesting art on the walls, which was good to see.

“Excellent location, great value for money, friendly atmosphere, good breakfast.”

Fantastic location in the old town right opposite the cathedral, which we could see from our room. All the landmarks are within walking distance, as are restaurants, pubs and shops. The room was a typical university residence room, simple but it has what you need, and the college has a lovely garden and common room. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also varied and good. We were able to check in earlier and also to leave our luggage at Reception on the last day
