The reception area was so welcoming, with such quirky decor. The manager, Anna, was the best example of hospitality staff that I have ever come across - she should train people - so genuinely friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and spacious with a gorgeous view of the cathedral and a super king bed. There was more tea and coffee than you could ever drink. Breakfast was a cold buffet with a large range of options, plus a cooked menu to choose from. We found an EV charging station, where we could leave the car overnight, just a 7 minute walk away, and then we brought the car back to the hotel carpark for the day, even though we had checked out. The Indian restaurant downstairs was very handy, if a little pricey, but it saved us from slipping down the icy hill to the city just to get our dinner!

We had a great stay. Comfortable, immaculate room with pretty Victorian original features and a great view over Durham. Great location, close to city centre. Breakfast was spot on and the staff were really friendly and accommodating. Couldn’t have asked for more, thanks for a great stay!

We really enjoyed the cooked breakfast. It was good to have an onsite car park which is a bonus in Durham. The location was perfect for us although it is on a hill. Great views though!

A great 2 night stay, room was spacious, spotlessly clean, well maintained and had everything we could of needed. Breakfast was cooked to order with high quality ingredients and also a buffet style breakfast which had everything you could of wanted. The onsite Indian restaurant was great extensive menu executed beautifully. Anna the manager went above and beyond to make our stay special and nothing was to much trouble the whole team provided great service. The hotel is a historical building and has great views, a short walk to Durham centre. Onsite carparking included in the rate is brilliant.
