I really liked this hotel in Dresden, one of the best hotel's I've stayed in and encountered. I understand it changed its brand from the Pullman to the Occidental, I don't think the change made no difference to the quality and ambiance this hotel showed. It is well maintained throughout, the arrival experience was superb even though I arrived just after midnight, the night managers were still very accommodating. The room was in a quality condition, and situated on level 13, which gave a awesome view of Dresden, the city centre and parts of the old town. The room came with complementary water which I think is a lovely gesture, and bath robes. The cleanliness was a perfection throughout the hotel and the room. The bar at the hotel was lovely to relax in and offered local German beers, the ambience was great and you can easily relax, it never got too busy either, you can also dine within the bar too. They provided an ok breakfast in the morning, a buffet concept with hot and cold options, and the choice was more than adequate. All the staff I encountered at this hotel were very professional and welcoming.

Great selections of food at the buffet, GREAT FOOD HERE, room design, very well-connected, the location feels safe, the staffs were kind and delightful, elevators has security system

It’s not too far from the train station. There were lifts with key card access. Our room had a great view of the square below and the towers of the churches around the Zwinger. Check in was fast. The room was of good size with a table and 2 chairs near the window. There were no kettle, coffee nor tea, no fridge. The tv has English channels. There was a safe. Unfortunately we arrived on Christmas Eve and the shops and restaurants were all closed. They had drinks at the lobby cafe but I think their restaurant was also closed.

What we liked about the hotel was for sure the location, which turned out to be closer to the train station than we expected. We enjoyed the view from the top floor, spacious room, presence of fridge, comfy bed, and functional bathroom with big sink, good makeup mirror&light, and big, uncommon shower in the middle of the room. What’s more the 24/7 reception was an advantage. Additional thing I liked for sure was the Geburtstagsüberraschung (in form of a piece of cake and a letter) I received from the hotel, as I had my birthday during the stay.

We upgraded the room to be on the old town side. So, we saw incredible view every morning. The bathroom and toiletries were nice and comfortable! It took only 10 mins to walk to the old town. The location was close to all shops.

For us as rail travellers, perfect location between railway station and main pedestrian mall. Appealing room decor, nice little table and chairs with a great view.
