What’s not to love, beautiful place to stay overlooking the harbour, Room was excellent and bed divine!!!! Breakfast was cooked for us early due to leaving on the Spirit of Tasmania and it was delicious. Thanks John and Brendon, we will definitely stay again if we are ever back that way!!!

It is a beautiful grand old house, of which the hosts can be proud. Unfortunately I had terrible back pain and found the bed way too high, and the lighting a bit dingy.

I can’t speak highly enough about this property. From the moment I arrived and checked in with owner Paul, I knew I had found my home away from home. This property is stunning. The furnishings and decorating are next level. The attention to detail is incredible. And the curtains 😍My room was gorgeous ! The heater was on when I arrived. Beautiful bath products, fluffy towels. WOW !! I was given a tour of the lounge and dining rooms and everything explained perfectly. I had the best nights sleep in the most comfortable bed. Breakfast was another wonderful experience. I met owner Brendan who prepared my food and I have to say his mushrooms are the best I’ve ever eaten ! These guys are so friendly and welcoming. I feel like I have met my two new brothers. I travel for work and will be staying at this amazing property every fortnight from now on 😊

It was an amazing experience. The building has been skillfully renovated to its former glory by Paul and Brendon. It was like stepping back into the 19th century with all the conveniences of the 21st century. The Hosts Paul and Brendon were great.Paul is like a walking encyclopedia on the history of the Grand and its previous occupants. Brendon is a brilliant Chef, the breakfast was magnificent, and a master decorator. His skills are on display through out the Grand on Macfie.

Lovely grand old house. Great staff. Breakfast was well presented. View of the river and Ferries. Bed was very comfortable. Room was a decent size, plenty of space for 2. Nice lounge area with added bonus of an evening port. Close proximity to centre.

There were plenty of options for breakfast and it was delicious! The building and rooms were beautiful and full of history yet were still very comfy and cozy to stay in! Thank you again!
