This hotel has a lot of potential, but we were disappointed to be charged premium rates while their best feature — the Winter Garden — was closed for refurbishment. It felt unfair, especially since it impacted multiple aspects of the stay. Breakfast was served in a large, windowless room with zero atmosphere (again, due to the refurb), which really took away from the experience. We also dined at the Brasserie on the first night and found the food to be less than average, yet still charged at premium prices — shocking, really. They offer 20% off your next stay as a gesture, but since we live in the South of England and don’t plan to return to this area anytime soon, it’s not much of a consolation. That said, the surrounding area is stunning, and there’s a fantastic range of activities for children — plenty to keep little ones entertained. The sauna and steam room were lovely, and the Victoriana spa is definitely worth a visit.

Set in a beautiful location. Staff were very friendly Room was clean but quite dusty Plenty for families with children to do Limited areas for adults on their own Furniture & seating in one restaurant looking tired, needs replacing. Lack of choices on menus

Very helpful and friendly staff on reception who were so accommodating given our last minute booking. The room was comfortable and ideal for the night. So much to do at the hotel - a shame we weren't staying for longer!
