Paperbark Retreat was situated in a beautiful location. It was peaceful, surrounded by tropical plants in well-kept gardens. The pool was lovely. Sue and Tony were very welcoming. We loved the veranda and each night sat outside, under candlelight. Sue’s cooked breakfast was delicious.

Wonderfully peaceful location and garden. Beautiful fresh fruits and hot breakfast tailored to my liking. And good coffee! Excellent in house dinners and enjoyed the warm company of the owners Tony and Sue.

Sue & Tony have created a restful retreat 12 minutes drive out of Cooktown. We were offered more than expected eg home cooked meals ( Sue is a great cook) & a fishing trip on the river.

The accommodation is located in the forest, not far from Cooktown Airport. Accommodation is nicely located, the toilet ist next door. Very fast internet. Tony and Sue, the owners, are a great company and very helpful . I recommend this property.

We had a very relaxing stay in a gorgeous tropical setting. Sue and Tony were excellent hosts. We particularly enjoyed the delicious home cooked meals. A fabulous experience.
