Beautiful historic pub with cosy rooms in the centre of Cookham. Great food, quiet, comfortable stay and attentive staff

Liked the location. The room had some flaws ie noisy macerator toilet that woke us, the single glazed Georgian window had no sound or draft proofing making it very noisy all day and night. Secondary glazing would have been good. No side tables to place glasses so had to use the floor which was a long way down from the high up bed. Clothes hanging peg missing but could easily have been replaced. Nasty plaster missing on ceiling which could easily have been fixed

Comfortably furnished and equipped, and almost completely silent. Wonderful breakfasts from a chef's menu, far above the usual 'full English' (unless requested).

On arrival we received a warm welcome and were “upgraded” to a slightly larger room. Shown to our room by an extremely polite gentleman. We stayed for dinner which was good. Wine a little on the expensive side, but the overall experience was good. Breakfast was excellent. A buffet of cereals and pastries was followed by an excellent cooked to order breakfast. Cookham was a lovely village with easy access to riverside walks.
