The variety of breakfast is still satisfactory, but the chicken tastes too old. The air conditioning has a good cooling effect, which is no problem. Room service is also OK, and it is convenient to take a taxi.

Finally a place with charme and personality, far from the new and anonymous hotels around the world. This half ruined building, with old forniture and labyrinthic corridors was the best place to land for the first night in Sri Lanka. Not the cleanest and the comfiest, but with 100% post colonialists aura. Go there.

Older hotel, but loads of character. Good breakfast selection. Central location about 10 minute walk to Colombo Fort station. Unrelated: Don’t let the deaf and lame people at the station scam you, by offering assistance.

Great location, very close to the train station and views over the port. Very clean and welcoming and the breakfast was fantastic. They helped me arrange airport pickup on the day of my arrival too, which was a great help!

The rooms were very spacious. The colonial atmosphere was evident. The location was perfect, not too far from Fort Railway Station or Galle Face beach.

This is a heritage hotel close to the colombo port since 1837. It has some interesting photos of Queen Elizabeth and other VVIPs who stayed here but then hotel shows it's age everywhere.. Creaky wooden staircase/ rooms and pathway are very dimly lit (this can be brighter for sure!). The rooms are average but location of this property is close to Railway station /market and city centre. It is time to give a make over to this hotel so that guest can stay here comfortably soaking in it's rich legacy. Currently it can be creepy for few visitors!!

I loved the 4 poster bed it was very comfortable - I sleep very well. The breakfast was great. Very central location - very close to Fort railway station
