Stayed in chalet number 33, parked car literally outside chalet , room was very clean with tea/ coffee making facilities, tv, bathroom had a shower which worked well and not a bath but that was not a problem for us, Short walk to main building, to reception, bars & restaurant, Menu for evening meal had plenty of choices which was all freshly cooked, buffet style breakfast was plentiful with full English or continental, fresh coffee, juices , toast etc you wanted for nothing, All staff were very helpful friendly and informative nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely stay again

We had a courtyard room, which was clean and comfortable with everything you needed..but quite small if you were staying for more than a couple of nights. We had a couple of issues with the fine dining restaurant, but it was their first night of reopening same..and all problems were resolved by the maitre d, which was sincerely appreciated. We attended a family funeral wake, which was absolutely excellent, well organised and lovely food. Special thanks go the lovely lady receptionist, sorry can't remember her name ...who was so kind and helpful, 5 🌟.

We had a lovely two nights stay at The Speech House, wonderful old building in the Forest of Dean, with beautiful walks all around, our attic room was everything I expected, good size bed furnished well, wonderful bathroom. We ate at the restaurant, food was exceptional, breakfast was great too l All the staff were very friendly, would love to stay again, and would definitely recommend.

ALL OF MY REQUESTS WERE MET IMMEDIATELY (GROUND ROOM, AWAY FROM TRAFFIC NOISE).THE LOCATION WAS MAGICAL; SO CONVENIENT. STAFF WERE EXTREMELY HELPFUL AT ALL TIMES. THE MEALS WERE OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY AND EXCELLENT VALUE.

A historic old building at the centre of the forrest. The staff are superb, trained, friendly, informative. The food is of the highest quality, varied with local connections.

Cater brilliant for dogs, including a large blanket, towel and 2 bowls in the room, plus on site walking facilities and the forest a few minutes away. Great breakfast but I did have a freshly cooked version, as opposed to the buffet, but it was excellent.

All staff were friendly and helpful Accommodation was clean We ate in The Orangery each evening and the food was excellent and high quality
