I cannot praise all the staff highly enough. I had a panic attack and stomach upset about getting to my meeting in the morning and the staff very kindly and efficiently organised a taxi, breakfast that I could eat and me so that in the end I arrived early! The bed was extremely comfortable and despite a back problem I slept soundly. The hotel is centrally located in the old part of the town and is an attractive building of character.

The location was ideal for my short stay in the centre of the city, but it was still quiet. The room was very clean and warm. Slept very well and managed a walk to Colchester Castle, Castle Park and Jumbo which were all within a five minute walk from the hotel.

Basic room with everything you need. Was on a main road but didn’t hear any noise. Booked a single and bed was a small double which was good. Tea coffee and shower gel in room. Staff friendly.

The hotel is quite close to the city and offers everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable and staff is extremely friendly. We really felt welcome. Special thats to Julie, who was a wonderful and attentive host, providing lots of extra information on what to visit in the city and where to go for dinner. We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

The staff, location, cleanliness, and comfy bed of a generous size for a single traveller. Appealing looking dining and bar facilities though I didn't have time to use. I was pleased for the price how nice North Hill is.
