Unique nice hotel. The building has its stories. Friendly staff. Delicious breakfast and the breakfast room with sunshine and nice view over the city. How could you start the day better ☀️

The heating was on when I arrived and the room was beautifully warm and welcoming. I loved the very large, characterful bedroom and the enormous bathroom which had a very roomy shower and lots of good quality towels. The bed was very big and comfortable, with 4 pillows and a storage ottoman at the end. There was no wardrobe, but you could hang a jacket. It was a short trip and I was travelling light, so I did not really need a wardrobe and there were drawers which I could have used to store clothing during a longer stay. I loved the French doors out onto the balcony and the lovely tall windows, all with shutters that closed, and the ornamental ceilings. There were lovely wooden floors and there was a tv little table and chair and an armchair in the room. It was great to have the option of the bottle of Portuguese mineral water which was provided on top of the bedroom sideboard at a cost of 2 Euros - and for which I was inordinately grateful (see below).

The whole hotel is so elegantly curated , yet in a way that feels homey and comfortable. The room was very big (got upgraded to a suite- very nice gesture) , everything was flawless. It is 3 minutes away from a big square with numerous bars and restaurants. The receptionist was also very helpful and insightful with an itinerary of what to see and do in the city. I would 100% recommend it to everyone coming to Coimbra!!

The staff had the room heated for me uppon arrival. The suite was very comfortable and had a lot of space as well as the bathroom. The breakfast also was a great value for money.

Breakfast had lovely selection of cereals, cold meat, cheese, breads, buns, hard boiled eggs and hot scrambled eggs, bacon and beans, yogurt and fruit juices. Choice of different coffee brews plus hot chocolate. Rooms are well appointed with comfortable beds. Free parking is available on nearby streets, no problem finding space! Thanks to Tony for recommendation of “Papa” & “Praixis” restaurants and for suggestions of things to see and do!
