Hotel Overview

This simple, family-run hotel from the 17th Century offers a calm elegance in the charming city of Chinon. The Hôtel Diderot, with its courtyard garden and white limestone walls, is a 12-minute walk from Chinon Royal Fortress.
Guest rooms are all individually decorated and have private en suite bathrooms with a bath or shower and a toilet.
A French breakfast is served next to the 15th-century fireplace in the breakfast room, or it is served on the terrace during the summer.
Guests have use of the garden and patio. Many shops and restaurants are located nearby. Chinon Train Station is a 10-minute walk from the property. This property does not have elevator ,porteur,airconditioning and minibar.

Beautiful historic hotel which has been lovingly bought back to original with huge medieval fireplace in breakfast room, original ceiling beams and set in peaceful lush courtyard garden within walking distance to everything Chinon has to offer. The owners were delightful and engaging and it was an excellent choice. Highly recommended

We liked everything about this hotel.So pretty set in beautiful gardens.Rooms are very nice and very French in style.Breakfast was really good and staff friendly and helpful.We have stayed at this hotel for ten years so that tells you how nice it is.Very close by on foot to the town's little square where you will find a selection of restaurants.

Location as an overnight stop off on our way back from the Southwest. It’s in the middle of Chinon which we always enjoy visiting.

Quirky privately run hotel close to the centre of Chinon. Good friendly service and excellent continental breakfast. Car parking available on site though chargeable.
