Inns Overview

A 8-minute drive from Chichester, The Horse & Groom is a newly refurbished 17th century pub with delicious award-winning food and ale. The pub is ideally placed for enjoying the beautiful Sussex countryside, including the South Downs National Park. West Sussex boasts a wealth of country and coastal walks, regular music, food, drink and garden festivals, and popular sporting events. From the Horse & Groom it is a brief journey to the famous motor circuit and racecourse at Goodwood, the beaches at West Wittering, the gardens at West Dean, the charming old village of Bosham, the Roman Palace at Fishbourne and the cathedral city of Chichester.
Choose from our INN with 10 -four gold star guest rooms with en- suite bathrooms, all furnished to a high specification offering luxurious bedding and a real sense of rustic charm. You will find traditional oak furniture, exposed wooden beams and soft, calming tones. There are also various works of art to enjoy including a number of landscapes portraying local villages.
Little touches such as a selection of teas and complimentary Grind coffee capsules add to your experience, Complimentary WiFi is offered throughout the building so you can stay connected during your break.

Location, decor and service. Absolute highlight was the three course dinner we had on the first night. Amazing! Three walks all from the pub. We did the one up and round Kingley Vale. Even had snow at the top.

Super find. Lovely traditional English pub at the foot of Kingly Vale and a short nip from Chichester Cathedral Town and beautiful Bosham Harbour. You can let yourself in and out, very unintrusive hosts but always on hand when needed. Breakfast was great and the pub restaurant menu, draught ales and open fire were welcome too.

Amazing pub and hotel, the staff goes above and beyond to make guests/customers happy, food is delicious. The room is very cozy and clean. Great location for hikes.

Clean, professional friendly staff, very well renovated building retaining its character. Room and bathroom very well equipped with an excellent freshly cooked breakfast with the best porridge II have ever had away from home.
