Our stay at Lan Homestay was phenomenal from start to finish. We hiked into the village from Cat Ba National Park entrance before making our way to the homestay. 4 hours total all on foot and I couldn’t recommend doing this highly enough. We booked another homestay close to Cat Ba National Park for 2 nights to leave our bags behind, which we would equally recommend - Joystay. We were greeted by Chilly and our tour guide Hai, both staff at the homestay. They are both amazing and couldn’t do enough for us. Chilly organised all of our transport across the island (including a private speed boat back to Cat Ba town) and Hai provided an exceptional service in our sunset kayaking tour (would also highly recommend), taking us out into the bay, cooking us a bbq and introducing us to bio-luminescent plankton. A truly magical experience made even better by Hai with his local knowledge. The homestay is the most beautiful I’ve stayed in Vietnam so far and I wish we’d had more days here. Between our two home stays they arranged absolutely everything for our hike across the island and transfer over to Ninh Binh. Absolutely fantastic service - very kind and welcoming, and cannot do enough for you. If I could rate 6/5 I would. Thank you Lan Homestay!! 🙏

The biggest highlight for us were the lovely hosts Hai and Chilly , they were beautiful people who were willing to help with anything you needed . It was a Beautiful location , and the Rooms made you feel at home .

Perfect place to come down and enjoy nature. The sunset tour we booked was just magic. We enjoyed our stay to the fullest. Special thank's to Chilly and especially to Hai. Thanks for the tips and advice (the cables to the navy Peak are very low. Don't touch 😀) All in all, it is very recommendable. All the best. Werner

An amazing experience to stay at this accommodation in such a beautiful authentic setting. Surrounded by plants, fish, frogs, lizards, butterflies, water buffalo, fruit trees, and jungle. Easy to hire bikes very cheaply (do barter) and cycle through the village and walk through the jungle. The communication and help from "Chilly" the host to organise travel from Hanoi to get there, and back and also to attend trips from there, was exceptional and made it really easy to visit despite it being in such a remote place. "Hoi" the homestay staff was so sweet, welcoming and polite, and knowledgeable about the area which he was very happy to share with us. Beds were so huge and comfortable. Home cooked food delicious. Loved being able to help ourselves to drinks and snacks and keep tally of our own bill. Our only experience of a homestay, and we got more space as a family than I was expecting, with our own separate accommodation. We were left to our own devices apart from meal times where we ate with a few other visitors
