The location was perfect for my stay visiting friends & family in the area. Lovely location, historical area, great walks from the pub. Beautiful old listed building. Nice, bright, spacious room(as seen in photo), tastefully decorated. Friendly, helpful staff on site. Shout out to Nicole, Scott & Carolyn, delivering service with a smile.

Having researched the area to find accommodation which put us in an area for ease of access to different locations we found the Ostrich. It’s an old building with metal frame windows. It doesn’t do breakfast however the staff arranged for us to have the makings for toast which is all we needed. Evening meals are available and the food was reasonably priced and you weren’t left feeling hungry. Staff were friendly and helpful. The access stairs are a bit steep which might be an issue for some. Bed was a touch on the hard side however not overly so. It met our needs for a 3 night stay and we would happily stay there again if in the area.

The Ostrich is quirky and pleasantly unpretentious, and the staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. We felt really relaxed there. The bed was very comfortable, and the room very spacious. We appreciated the simple decor and the natural materials used in the bedroom, as well as the refillable soap and shampoo bottles, and the handmade signage and decorations on the outside of the bedroom doors!
