Great location, in the centre of the city, shops and restaurants in walking distance. The hotel was clean and had great food. Amazing breakfast with cooked options and continental available.

For our first night in Cape Town, we picked this centrally located hotel which made it easy to walk to nearby attractions and areas of interest. The antique elevator and quirky decor gave me strong Alice in Wonderland vibes as if I had stepped right into a fairytale. Our room overlooked Long Street which remained busy till late but in spite of the traffic, we managed to sleep soundly. Breakfast was generous servings of scrambled eggs, mushrooms, toast and fresh coffee while we could help ourselves to blueberry pancakes, muffins, yogurt and fruit on the side. All rooftop trailers were fully booked when we were making our reservation but we hope to stay in one of those designer accommodation on our next visit to The Grand Daddy.

The staff friendliness was a sure highlight. The location and surrounding eateries provided good options. The decor is something to experience but this does not add to the ultimate comfort expected inside the room. The rooms are substantially smaller than what they appear to be on the pics. Hats off to the fantastic and friendly staff!

Staff were great. They really tried to make our stay comfortable even though we had a couple of issues with the sound in our room. Our room was very clean and well maintained. The rooftop bar was fantastic - a great place to have a cocktail and relax.

The hotel has a unique style. The architecture is colonial or vintage, and the interior matches the outer style too. The staff is very friendly and helpful, some of them speak french and english too. The place is clean, and near to quite large of small restaurants and shops. Fast food ( burger, fried chicken) are only very few meters from the hotel) Easy to get an Uber and the train station is less than probably 1 km. The hotel can organise visit to Wine Farms and other attraction as well.

The location of the Grand Daddy is probably its most attractive selling point, as it is centrally located in the heart of Cape Town and close to many points of interest. The breakfast was also lovely.
