Martin “Wonderful stay in Cambados”

We stayed at Casa A Pastora for 5 nights and Sonia and her mum were the perfect hosts and this made for a wonderful stay. We had a balcony room with views over the sea, back garden and the surrounding vines - perfect sunsets. The rooms were nice and the breakfast lovely (talking to mum over Google translate) - great parking at the front and about 15 mins walk to the sea front. If we ever come back to Cambados we will definitely stay here again.

Sonia and her mother were most welcoming and helpful. Sonia arranged an early breakfast on the day we made a visit to Santiago de Compostela (50 minutes by car on a Saturday). If you want to see a bit more of Galicia outside Santiago Cambados is a good choice. This is a quiet location but only a 10 minute walk to a popular local square with cafe and restaurant. The old town itself is an easy 20 minute stroll with a good choice of restaurants. After such good meals we certainly needed the walk back. This being Galicia we had umbrellas with us just in case. The breakfast was always something to look forward to with some personal touches including home made jam and cake and delicious home grown tomatoes.

Sonia was a lovely host, nothing was too much trouble for her, very accommodating and helpful finding out bus times for us, we don't speak very much Spanish and she didn't speak much English but along with google translate we got there with many laughs along the way. Breakfast was a homemade feast of pastries, yogurts and fresh fruit from her garden along with meats and cheeses etc. We chose Casa A Pastora as a base for a few days to go out and about from and we were pleased we did.
