Marlene was an excellent host, letting us check in early as we had arrived before 2 pm. The guesthouse is in a great location overlooking vineyards at the front and with beautiful gardens and a swimming pool at the rear. Within walking distance of several good wineries. Breakfast is a fabulous 3 course affair. Would highly recommend

Everything was absolutely perfect. Marlene had ensured that the room was perfect and had thought of absolutely everything. We really appreciated the exceptional quality of all the linen, towels, pillow etc, even the glasses and mugs were good quality. The breakfast was very generous and the preparation thereof was incredible. Lovely location, safe parking and amazing hosts.

The accommodation was very comfortable and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. The owners were very friendly, attentive and kind. I so appreciated the little touches like the sharing of their 'paper' map, being shown the town's Christmas lights and being given a bag of delicious apricots.

Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by Steve and Marlene, who made us feel right at home. Their personalized service was truly exceptional, as they took the time to ensure that every aspect of our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The rooms at Port Wine Guesthouse were not only comfortable but also beautifully decorated, adding to the overall charm of the place. We especially appreciated the attention to detail, from the plush bedding to the thoughtful amenities provided. One of the highlights of our stay was the amazing breakfast served each morning. Marlene's culinary skills were evident in every dish. It was the perfect way to start our days of exploring the picturesque surroundings of Calitzdorp. One particular gesture that stood out was when Steve offered to wash our dusty car after a trip through the stunning Groenfontein road. It was these small acts of kindness that truly made our stay exceptional.

Beautiful old Cape Dutch farmhouse style with lovely outdoor area though it was too hot to sit outside.. Had a lounge area. Hosts friendly and helpful. Air-conditioning a plus as it is very hot here in summer. Room good size and quaint but not really anywhere to put anything.
