The People Caen is well located, with a tram and NVCV (city free shuttle bus stop) right outside the door and the staff were lovely. Patient with my attempt at French and accommodating when I needed English. The rooms were clean, tidy and well secured - every door needs the key, and the beds sturdy and spacious and private. The pods aren't lit, but have a plug and USB sockets. The lockers were good, though you need your own lock. I have never stayed in a hostel with such continuously clean bathrooms and toilets. I would love to stay in a People hostel again.

There are curtains on the beds. There's a shared kitchen. The employees are very nice and helpful. Caen is a good base if you want to visit Lisieux, Bayeux (first place liberated on D-Day and home of the Bayeux tapestry), or the D-Day beaches. You can go to Mont San Michel from there, but you'd need a car for that.

Great family rooms very spacious with a great bathroom. Loved having use of a lounge and kitchen that had an amazing balcony. The hotel and rooms smelled amazing.
