Motel Overview

Set within the Burkes Pass gateway to Mackenzie Country, Burkes Pass Country Motels is centrally located for skiing at Mt Dobson and Roundhill and day trips to Mt Cook. Guests enjoy free WiFi and views of the surrounding Rollesby Range and Mt Burgess.
Burkes Pass Country Motels is a 15-minute or a 22 km scenic drive from either Lake Tekapo or Fairlie, both of which offers a supermarket and range of restaurants. Mackenzie Pass and the Mackenzie Memorial are a 30-minute drive away.
Being surrounded by mountains, there is no mobile phone reception, so guests are assured a relaxing stay. Some shared facilities are provided, including flat-screen TVs, electric frying pans and rice cookers. Plunger coffee and magazines are provided.
There is an art gallery located next to the property. The outdoor dining area offers BBQ facilities and a picnic area, ideal for dinner under the stars.
All accommodation is located on the ground floor, offering easy access to the free on-site parking area. Each apartment features a sofa, a TV, a refrigerator and tea/coffee making facilities. Private rooms offer access to shared bathroom facilities.

The location was great for a stop over overnight from Queenstown to Christchurch and 20 min from Lake Tekapo where you have options as far as eating out, activities like hot pools etc.

The location is convenient and access to Lake Tekapo. The Host provides us an close encounter with his sheep in the morning and teaches us how to feed the sheep. It's really fascinating.
