Hotel Overview

Hotel Schmid & Alfa is located on the edge of Lake Lucerne in the traditional Alpine village of Brunnen. Rooms have cable TV, and Wi-Fi is free in public areas.

Overall the hotel is ok but a little dated but today’s standards especially in view of the price paid. The view was as expected of the lake. Breakfast was standard. It was good but not exceptional when compared to other places at this price.

We arrived at midday and were able to leave our luggage and get the remote for the secure underground car park. It was a wet day and having explored the town (great cafe Schelbert) we were able to check in early. Next door was a Michelin starred vegetarian restaurant (Birdy’s) where adding meat to each course attracts a fee. We loved it.
