Looking out to sea over Broadstairs’ Viking Bay, the Royal Albion has a magnificent location, on the seafront, yet also close to the heart of the town.
The Royal Albion was originally built in 1760 and Charles Dickens was a regular visitor. The famous Bleak House, Dickens’ home in Broadstairs, is within sight.
The rear gardens lead out onto the town’s seafront promenade, with direct access to the sandy beaches.
All of the 21 rooms are en suite and each room has satellite TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Each room has a view of the historic town or of the bay.
Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available in the entire hotel.

We booked a deluxe double with sea view, the room allocated was at the end with a great view. Location fantastic and we slept New Year's Eve with the window open and the sound of the waves, a great way to see out 2024 and welcome in 2025. Breakfast was included and met all our expectations.

Staff were all incredibly friendly. We were lucky enough to get the toom I requested and we were able to check-in early. Room had everything we needed. Tea and coffee facilities, cold fresh milk given in a flask. Lovely toiletries in the bathroom. The room we stayed in was a sea view room and it was breathtaking. We enjoyed having the window open to listen to the sea. We had breakfast up in the room whuch felt very special. Breakfast was great. English breakfast, pastries and fruit.

Location very food for beach access/town centre/restaurants, but not noisy. Staff friendly and helpful. Roo.s very clean and comfortable, fabulous view of the bay.

Staff friendly and in the main helpful, closing the bar at ten on the dot on a weekday was a bit of a disappointment. Parked our cars for free a short seafront walk on Western Esplanade also looked less at risk than the local car park.
