Our rooms were single rooms with shared facilities on the fifth floor. The hotel has a range of different types of room to suit most budgets. There is a Reception available on the ground floor from 8 am until 10 pm. The rooms are simply but comfortably furnished and we had several changes of towels and bed linen while we were there. Even though I was in one of the smaller rooms there was a desk where I could do my online work. Check in is online before arrival, so the process of getting keys is quick and easy. There are coded boxes for people arriving outside Reception hours to collect keys. The bathrooms and kitchen were kept immaculately clean by the great housekeeping team. We chose the Jacob because of its central location, and also because we were staying for nearly two weeks for work purposes, so we wanted the freedom to use a kitchen. Mostly the floor was pretty quiet, and our rooms faced the courtyard, which I think was a good thing, as the area around the hotel can get busy at the weekends and has a number of bars and restaurants. Our budget was also a factor. We were prepared to go without ensuite bathrooms to save on costs. There are shops nearby for getting groceries, so one of us went to buy fresh rolls and supplies every morning. We were also able to cook brunch or simple main meals in the kitchen on our floor. It was quite fun to meet with other guests and have a quick chat. The hotel seems to attract quite a variety of guests - from young families and groups of tourists to older couples. Another great benefit was to be able to pay a small fee of a couple of Euros for a load of laundry to be done in the middle of our stay. This is really useful when you're staying for a longer time, or if you are travelling from one place to another and need to catch up with laundry. Brno is a lovely city to visit, with a great deal to offer. The Jacob has a distinctive feel about it and adds to the experience.

Location was great! Beds great, 2 pillows great! Warm enough and you could adjust the temperature in the room. Furnitures was really nice. Staff was very polite.

What didn't I like? Nothing. The place is perfect and the little bar within reception selling natural wines by the glass or bottle with extra friendly staff is a real highlight for me because I love natural wine and talking to locals. I will stay here next time I'm in Brno

A nice, clean and quiet place in a great location. The staff is really friendly, they allowed us to check-in earlier which was super nice. They also offer luggage storage.

Everything was exceptionally clean. There was a fan in my room, which was necessary! The bathrooms had some lovely extras - shower gel etc, cotton pads etc. with the outside doors closed I could barely hear the street noise and I am super sensitive to noise. Messages were responded to promptly. Adequate instructions provided when I arrived after the staff went home. Staff in the morning were helpful and friendly and I was able to store my luggage.
