Gilpin Hotel & Lake House, an AA 5 Red Star, Relais & Châteaux hotel near Windermere in the beautiful Lake District.
Gilpin is dedicated to nourishment, recuperation, and relaxation, and is made up of two hotels on two separate estates, just over a mile away from each other.
GILPIN HOTEL Set in 21 acres of country gardens, moors and woodland, Gilpin Hotel has a Michelin starred restaurant, a casual pan Asian restaurant, a Champagne Bar, lounge and terraces, a relaxing Spa Space as well as resident llamas, alpacas, and micro pigs.
All bedrooms have incredible Lakeland views, leading onto the beautiful hotel gardens.
GILPIN LAKE HOUSE Just over a mile away from Gilpin Hotel, within 100 acres of breathtaking grounds and situated on the bank of Knipe Tarn, Gilpin Lake House is a true sanctuary far away from the crowds, but just a stone’s throw from the breath-taking lakes and fells. With a lounge, shared swimming pool and hot tub and spa treatment rooms, it has the feel of a country house with all the services of a hotel.
(Please note that only Lake House guests have access to the spa facilities at the Gilpin Lake House.)

Leading onto the garden through patio doors, these large suites each feature a sleek bathroom with a spa bath and walk-in shower. The living area has a flat-screen TV, home-made biscuits and chic décor. All Junior Suites have their own private hot tubs on your own patio overlooking the hotel grounds.

These suites have access to a hot tub on a private deck. Spacious and luxuriously furnished, each suite has a flat-screen TV and DVD player, a fireplace and home-made biscuits. Bathrooms have a separate bath and walk-in shower, as well as luxury toiletries.

With an elegant seating area and views of the grounds and local hills, all but one of these suites also have a separate bath and shower in the luxury bathroom. All have a flat-screen TV, tea and coffee with home-made biscuits and a minibar.

This room features a seating area and an en suite bathroom.

This lake house suite is located just under a mile from the main hotel and features exclusive use to a spa and 100 acres of land. It features a seating area and an en suite bathroom with luxury toiletries. The spa features an indoor swimming pool, a sauna and a hot tub. Some rooms feature views of the garden whilst others feature vies of the lake.

This suite features private en suite spa facilities. It offers a rainfall shower head and a steam room inside, while outside guests can access a hot tub and a sauna.

The double room features carpeted floors, a seating area with a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a minibar, a tea and coffee maker, as well as a wardrobe. The unit offers 1 bed.

Offering free toiletries and bathrobes, this twin/double room includes a private bathroom with a shower, a hairdryer and slippers. Very cosy feel to the hotel, it felt like a home away from home. The food was incredible. Spice Restaurant never disappoints. Our room was clean and comfortable.

We really enjoyed our meal in gilpin spice, the comfortable room and the roll top bath . The staff were lovely and friendly throughout and it was very helpful having an ev charge point.

The staff are nice and friendly. The room and the hot tub are clean. The cute animals as a do not disturb sign is a real sparkle point. The lobster in the Michelin starred restaurant Source is amazing.

The staff on arrival were extremely warm and eager to provide excellent service. The room was a delight. The food was exceptional as were the staff who served us. The sauna was very enjoyable. The location was a joy.
