authentic and well maintained hotel that was lovely to stay in. Our rm 121 was fabulous, huge and cery comfortable. Shower was excellent staff were very attentive and helpful and breakfast superb, lovely to have table service for a change rather than self serve.

Excellent position and reassuringly old fashioned. Beautiful old building with character features. Didnt eat here but used the bar, could o with a few more options on the draught beer front but a minor complaint. If you visit for NYE, it will be full of Northern OAP,s on bus tours.

Breakfast was lovely, room was very warm with the heating and the small double really was a small double! Very comfortable though.

It’s in a good location at the top of the winter garden and the bottom of the high street we parked below the hotel which was great and cheaper if booked in advance, the staff were all nice and friendly and the breakfast was good which we booked with the rooms.
