Maybe not the most modern place but it was clean, the rooms and common areas were well maintained, the breakfast was very good and the staff were keen to help.

Easy to find, it's a short walk from Bochum train station around the ring road. Easy walking distance to plenty of bars/restaurants. Breakfast served in a lovely room and until a decent time of morning. Reception staff excellent and friendly.

The hotel's location is good in relation to the city centre, with only a five to ten minute walk to the shops, bars and restaurants and train station should you choose to visit other nearby cities. I must commend the staff who worked in the Hotel Ostmeier who were very friendly and very helpful. The room I stayed in was very clean, tidy, and attended to every day by cleaning staff. There is pretty much what you need in the room for a short stay. There is a good choice of food for breakfast, in a nice relaxed dining area, and you were not rushed to finish. In short, the Hotel Ostmeier is a nice traditional hotel with great staff that is certainly worth considering if you're looking to stay in Bochum.

The stay was overall very good. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. I had a problem with the time of my arrival (late in the night) and the staff was very accomodating and we were able to find a solution! Plus: I really liked the breakfast!
