Out of the hussle out of town, in nature and good for the soul after a long trip from the Cape province. We prefer booking self catering accommodation and this was ideal to have your own space outside.

We were warmly welcomed by the helpful host, Doreen, who took care of everything we needed, from wood to ice. The property features a stunning garden and a spacious, comfortable room with a full bathroom. The highlight of our stay was the veranda with a wood-burning jacuzzi overlooking the beautiful garden. We enjoyed a peaceful evening soaking in the jacuzzi, surrounded by the garden's magical lighting, and watched a lovely sunset with a glass of wine after a long drive. The main house is a charming old sandstone building, and the apartment we stayed in is freestanding, offering privacy while still overlooking the lush gardens. Despite being conveniently located just off the N1, the area is quiet, with only the soothing sound of a distant train passing by in the morning. This was an unforgettable stopover, and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended!

Saffron cottage is a true little gem. The gardens are beautiful and the cottage was clean with everything we might have needed. Doreen, the host was lovely and told us a bit of the history which was really interesting and gave us photos etc of Haldon Estate. Bonus was that it is pet friendly. I would definitely recommend Saffron cottage and are just sorry that our stay wasn't longer

As the Estate's located on the outskirts of Bloem, the garden was quiet with no city noise. The property has a massive garden for roaming, with many seating areas and a pool. Room was comfortable, with an air-conditioner, open plan layout and decent kitchenette. TV with streaming services and WiFi. The private patio was spacious with a seating area, a hot tub and braai facilities. Bathroom had a shower and bathtub. Blackout curtains are always a welcome bonus. Thanks Doreen!

The peaceful and calming atmosphere, surrounded by lush greenery, created the perfect escape into nature. The beautifully maintained gardens added to the charm, offering a serene environment ideal for self-reflection and relaxation. The tranquility of the setting allowed for complete rejuvenation, providing a much-needed break from daily stress. To top it off, the super friendly and welcoming staff made the stay even more enjoyable and comfortable.

We loved this property. It was close to the freeway yet away from it all in a farm setting with beautiful gardens and walk through the farm estate. There were lots of classic garden features and furnishings and a lovely pool setting. The large cottage was comfy, very clean, elegantly furnished and well equipped with a lounge, kitchenette, large bath and shower and an indoor/outdoor braai area with a jacuzzi and garden views. There was safe parking

The grounds are lovely. The bed is very comfortable and the cottage is spacious. I loved walking in the garden and hearing the birds.

I did not stay in Safron Cottage because I was delaid a day but the staff arrange for me to stay in another room which was also excelent . Thank you for a relaxed stay.
