“This place has character, great food and a stunning view of Lake Como”

The restaurant serves delicious food, with a view overlooking Lake Como. The owners are very welcoming and there is free shaded parking. The rooms are perfectly clean and there is a huge, private (for hotel guests) terrace with sunbeds to lie, read a book or enjoy the view. Shared bathroom was very clean. It's quite an exciting narrow, winding drive up to the hotel - my boys loved it (me too, it's very scenic - but I was glad my husband was driving). Food: try the boar, the steak that comes out sizzling on a plate or the chocolate cake - so delicious. Breakfast was also nice. Almost want to give it a 9 for the experience, but it's just a little too dated and the shared bathroom holds me back from rating higher. We stopped here just one night on our way further south for our summer holiday but could have easily stayed a couple of nights longer. I'm trying to upload a photo of the view but it's not working - so you'll just have to trust me, it's amazing :)

This was an amazing overnight on the way back from Italy. Quite a drive up the mountain but totally woth it for the amazing views over lake como. The staff were welcoming and the food was far better the it needed to be given the location.

everything was fine, high on the top of the mountain, for me the road to the lake was very extreme, especially the first days, then we got used to it) but everything was fine)

The view is stunning and it is in such a quiet area that it makes for a great place to stay. I'd love to come back in winter. The little walking tracks around the area were lovely.

Breakfast was great:) Secluded and beautiful. Very old I think. On weekends you can go there by mini bus, but on weekdays you have to use your feet:) Downwards is easier but upwards is tough.

Baita carla ,( Cabin Carla ), rustic , beautiful , on the mountain with wonderful views of como and the alps , with an amazing twisty road up to it , if your looking for a genuine Italian Cabin feel , look no further , yes people could say its out dated , but , its lovely older feel and furniture is what we enjoyed , the family and staff were all extremely polite and very helpful , we had eaten before going up but the food looked lovely , every plate that was taken from a table was empty and it seemed that locals went there to eat aswell , which is always a good sign , it was clean , the shower was amazing , the mattress and pillows are so comfy wish we had stayed another night . Thankyou to everyone at baita carla xxx
