Traveller reviews

“Bon Apetit”
14 Jan 2025
In the heart of Blackpool, a town where the sea's breath whispers tales of old, we found solace at the Bel Reve Hotel, a veritable haven amidst our weary travels. The establishment, with its quaint charm, seemed to step out of the pages of a Dickens novel, its walls whispering of comfort and respite. The host, a gentleman of immense kindness, greeted us in attire most peculiar—a bright green sweatsuit, which, despite its modernity, carried with it an air of geniality and warmth. His welcome was as if we had returned to a long-lost home, his smile as bright as the verdant hue of his garment. The rooms of Bel Reve bore the essence of a bygone era, not through opulence, but through a simplicity that speaks to the soul. The beds, firm yet inviting, offered rest to bodies tired from the day's journey, while the windows looked out upon a world that, in its own bustling way. The cleanliness of the place was impeccable, each corner and crevice cared for with the meticulousness of a Victorian housekeeper, ensuring that our stay was not only comfortable but also felt like an escape from the dust and din of travel. Here, in this modest abode, we found peace, a sanctuary where time seemed to slow, allowing us to reflect on our adventures with a cup of tea. Our days at Bel Reve were filled with the simple pleasures that make travel so delightful. The host, in his vibrant green attire, was ever present, his laughter like a beacon of cheer in the morning, guiding us to a hearty breakfast that rivalled those served in the inns of old England. His stories, rich with local lore and humour, entertained us as much as the sights of Blackpool itself. This hotel, with its kind host and comforting ambiance, was indeed a safe haven, a place where one could rest, recover, and revel in the joy of discovery. As we departed, we carried with us not just memories of Blackpool's charm but also the warmth of Bel Reve, a gem in the crown of our travels. Thank you the Bel Reve.
