Please note that taxi fares to and from Stansted Airport are GBP 25 for 1 way and GBP 50 for a return journey.The hotel recommends that dinner reservations are made before arrival. A limited service operates over Christmas and New Year.The additional cost for children up to 12 years old includes breakfast when sharing a room with their parents.Breakfast is GBP 10 per person if you order it the night before. Breakfast is GBP 19.50 per person when you order it on the same morning.Please note that the property only allows dogs in certain executive rooms. Guests should contact the hotel at the time of booking to arrange their room. Additional charges may apply.

Wow what a place. Fantastic beautifully built hotel in the middle of a forest. . We was lucky to catch the outdoor cinema last night which was a nice touch. Also it was interesting to see a film crew there today filming a movie. Hotel staff, cinema staff and film crew were all 5star.

Staying at Down Hall was a real treat. The room was wonderful and the staff were really lovely. The grounds are great for a walk. Breakfast was hearty and the restaurants and cream teas were yummy.

The place is lush and bustling but was very chill. Beautiful surroundings and there was a wedding on each day of the time we were there but you still felt like it wasnt interfering with our time there (plus was nice to see a sneak peek of each wedding!)

Lovely location, 20 minutes away from Stansted, gorgeous building, fabulous surroundings, great beds, perfect cleanliness. Food and drinks prices are reasonable. Really good.

Room and facilities were excellent. We found the staff very professional and friendly. The meal we had in the restaurant was excellent.
