It is a very lovely period property with many original features and charm. The modern tapas style restaurant added on to the property is very tastefully decorated. Food was nice also.

Birr is a lovely town. The castle is amazing. Townshend house was really nice, in beautiful condition and very clean. The tapas restaurant is a great space & very popular with guests. We will definitely go back again.

Stayed for a few days while working in Birr and it was ideal for a solo traveller. Room was spotless and bed super comfortable.

Very impressive guest house, full bar and restaurant, with lovely gardens to the rear, spotless throughout, unfortunately didnt get to eat there as it was on a monday and the restaurant was closed but will rectify that next time, more of a small hotel feel to it than a guest house, a pure dinger of a spot
