The fine print
- Please note that bed linen and towels are not provided. Guests may bring their own linen and towels or rent them at arrival for an extra charge. Sleeping bags are not permitted.
- Check-in from 15:00. Check-out at 10:00.
- Reception opening hours: From 01 October until 01 June - From 7:00 until 23:00. From 01 June until 30 September - 24 hours
- If you expect to arrive after reception opening hours, please inform the reception in advance so we can prepare a self check-in for you. Be aware that guests arriving after reception opening hours will be charged in advance.
- Breakfast is FREE during the specified time defined by the hostel. There are no possibilities to have free breakfast before or after breakfast hours.
- When booking more than one bed in a dormitory, we cannot guaranteed that the beds are going to be in the same room.
- Children under 16 are not permitted to stay in the dormitory rooms.
- Hostelling International members won't get the membership discount when booking via Booking.com.
- HI Bergen Hostel Montana is a place for international and domestic travellers: non-travellers can be refused without any further discussion.Bed linens and towels are not included in the room rate. Guests can rent them at the property for an additional charge of NOK 70.0 per person or bring their own.
Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.

I only stayed for one night but it was really great. The location is just amazing, the place is clean and the kitchen furnished. It is possible to do laundry onsite and the staff is friendly

Perfect location for those who like to stay outside the city and like hiking. It was just a great feeling, everybody was very helpful and it felt like being surounded by friends. The hostel even organised a few great activities.

It’s one of the best hostels I know. Large and well equipped kitchen, enough space to work, read or chill. Great location right at the start of the climb to Uliken and well connected with the city centre by public transportation.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Bergen Hostel Montana, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations! Here's why I highly recommend it: Cleanliness: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The hostel was impeccably clean. From the dorm rooms to the common areas and even the bathrooms, everything was spotless and well-maintained. It was clear that the staff took great pride in ensuring a hygienic and comfortable environment for all guests. Breakfast: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The breakfast was absolutely fantastic! There was a wide variety of options, from fresh fruits, continental slices and great coffee. It was the perfect way to start the day, and the quality and thoughtfulness of the spread were truly impressive. There is an additional packed lunch option available too. Staff: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The staff were incredible—friendly, approachable, and always ready to assist. They went out of their way to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable. Whether it was answering questions, providing local tips, or just having a friendly chat, they were an absolute delight.
