Travelled around Sri Lanka for 25 years - this time with my son - stayed and ate at La Perla Bentota and was the best Sri Lankan curry (especially excellent ladies fingers) I have ever had. A truly excellent place with a first class owner Nelson - many thanks

Just wonderful! Dont even hesitate book here ! Its the loveliest place, just out of Bentota, a real oasis , just loved it. I came with my 12 year old son , all the staff were really warm and welcoming and it is set in beautiful grounds. A very special place

My partner and I recently stayed at Perla Bentota and overall, we had a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. A special shoutout to Nelson, who prepared a delicious dinner for us. To add to the magic of our stay, the hotel went above and beyond by decorating our room for our wedding. The room itself was spacious, clean, and very well-equipped, with everything we needed for our stay.

We absolutely loved staying here for 3 days! You will live in a wonderful garden with an amazing pool view. The hosts and the staff are extremely helpful and will make everything to create a cozy atmosphere for you. Nelson is a great chef indeed.We had a delicious dinner prepared by him. The place is in 5 minutes distance from the beautiful Bentota beach. Highly recommended!

Just loved this place. It is quite intimate, only six rooms, all with terraces facing the pool and garden. Nelson & Alexandra made us feel very welcome and the food that Nelson cooked ( on request) was so good that when we left we returned with friends for dinner. Duminda and his colleague were very sweet and attentive. It is across the road from the beach and we found at least 4 other places to eat nearby or a short tuk tuk drive away.

Excellent breakfast, limited options. Included fresh fruit platter, fresh juice, tea and coffee with eggs prepared as per request. Very boutique property, tastefully done, spacious rooms, clean. The decor with lights really changes the mood in the restaurant and pool in the evening. Friendly owners and competent team, equally friendly pooches :)

Nelson and his team were top notch. Very friendly, welcoming and very helpful arranging airport pickup, a couple of excursions, massage & our onward travel. The breakfast was excellent and we had a couple of evening meals as well which were also excellent. You're only 5-10 mins walk to the beach, there's a lovely little bar called Waves which is right on the beach and has free sun beds providing you buy a drink / something to eat. The sea was quite choppy whilst we were there and there aren't any lifeguards but you could go in to cool down. The complex is close to the railway line and there is some noise from the trains however if you're near the beach you're near the railway line anywhere on this coast and I honestly think that any accommodation you book in Bentota will have some noise from the trains - but not all will have Nelson & his team, which in our opinion makes the train noise irrelevant.

This is a wonderful hotel with great owners and staff. Nelson & Alexandra are fabulous hosts, you never feel like a number, the service is personal and they do everything to ensure that you enjoy your stay. The beach is a short walk across the railway track and road and the beach and sea are absolutely spectacular. There are fabulous beach bars providing beds, drink , food and shade. We enjoyed a wonderful ayurvedic massage during our stay and would highly recommend. We ate at the hotel most nights and can only concur with previous reviews the food is wonderful and Nelson and the rest of the staff delight in your enjoyment - the portions are generous! They arranged tuktuks whenever we wanted to go in to Bentota and arranged our airport transfer even providing us with a breakfast goody bag. All the staff were great but a special shout out to Devanda who really looked after us. This is a very special little hotel that we would highly recommend.
