The hosts Denise and Peter are wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble. We arrived on a very hot day, our time spent in the pool was so refreshing. The accommodation was above our expectation, in the fact that we had the whole top level of the home to ourselves. Our bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was delightful. Chatting with Denise and Peter was very easy and interesting. We thoroughly enjoyed our mid week break. Highly recommend.

Blue Gum Cottage is in a beautiful, peaceful location. Wonderful views of the lake from the dining room where we had a delicious breakfast: fresh fruit and yoghurt for myself and a cooked breakfast of sausages and scrambled eggs for my husband. Denise and Peter are friendly ( without being intrusive) and accommodating. The cottage is spotless with attention to detail for guests' comfort. We chose the cottage for its closeness to Avoca Beach Theatre where my husband was performing and would definitely stay there again.

Blue Gum Cottage is gorgeous and the garden enchanting. The accommodation is super comfortable and clean. The large deck overlooking the water was a big bonus, as were the flocks of sulphuric crested cockatoos and lorikeets overhead. The hosts, Denise and Peter, could not have been lovelier or more helpful. Denise went to a lot of trouble finding us a restaurant that was open on Monday and Peter, bless him, drove us there and picked us up later. Peter cooked a delicious breakfast to order which we enjoyed overlooking the water and gum trees. Blue Gum Cottage and its hosts are exceptional. Thank you Denise and Peter!

The very first impression is the sound of the native bird life, quickly followed by being given the whole upstairs area of Blue Gum, including the kitchen and external raised seating and balcony area - set amongst the trees with glimpses of the sea through trees and mangroves, with amazing bird life. Exploring the local area needs more time than we had allocated, Pearl beach and so many others need and deserve more time. Our hosts are great, breakfast was great and we are thinking of returning at some time and staying longer in this area.

Everything. Accomodation was well appointed, top quality, charming, comfortable and private, with a lovely view and wildlife of the feathered variety. Breakfast was substantail with a lot of variety, well cooked and yummy, I felt very spoiled. Denise and Peter were super friendly ,interesting people and went out of their way to make my stay wonderful . I highly recommend Blue Gum Cottage on Bay!

Homely property by the water ran by a lovely welcoming couple Denise and Peter. You have the whole area to use bedroom/bathroom/kitchen/dining/lounge and they come back in the morning to cook you a beautiful breakfast. Highly recommend.

The hosts were extremely friendly, and we had access to the lounge and outside rear deck, so plenty of room to relax in other than the bedroom. Great breakfast. Highly recommended.
