“Superb”
13 Jul 2024
What a great experience! The house or Mrs Laclede is an old manor house or a wealthy family house from back days and is mostly in original condition, well kept so it really gives the authentic experience. The surroundings and the willage are picturesque and kept rather in the original shape etc. But the absolute best and a huge thank you goes to Mrs Laclede, who is an incredibly caring, loving person. Her hospitality is genuine. Due to my unfortunate health, I can never enjoy a breakfast in hotels and struggle to find anything to eat while travelling. Once Mrs Laclede found out about my condition, she prepared for me every morning food I could enjoy. She was also very flexible before and during our stay, which really made our stay memorable. So please, note that this is someone's home and not a commercial hotel and behave mindfully and respectfully. Thank you Mrs Laclede and hope to see you again soon! ❤️

“History in every corner.”

This 400 years old house is a great place to stay. After a motorcycle road trip, staying here for the night and enjoy the evening was a great idea. The house looks like a museum, people from Europe we are used to see very old houses, so many you’re like, let’s say, the US, this can be a great experience. We were received with a warm welcome, and with my poor French we managed to understand everything. Our room was vey spacious, with private toilet and shower. Breakfast was fresh as it can get. There’s enough parking space outside also. Definitely recommend this place.

“Beautiful period house with easy access to beautiful walks and treks”
26 Sep 2023
Breakfast was reasonably abundant, French style I presume, with jam, honey , bread, croissants and tea/coffee. The bedroom, as well as the whole house, was enriched with beautiful antique furniture and period objects. In many ways it looked like a mini museum. The room was large, with sink and shower obviously added later as the style clashed with the rest of the room. But that did not bother me. The landlady was friendly and helpful, even if her knowledge of the English language and mine of the French were a bit of an obstacle. The village has a few essential shops selling local produce, but there are also restaurants. Better book in advance though. There are some country paths nearby and many further away that one can reach by car. The landscape is beautiful with some alpine looking views if travelling south. There are many trekking paths leading to magnificent views on top of the mountains and the nearer you get to the border with Spain, the better it becomes, with rocky mountains reflected on a natural lake. Beautiful for photography.
