Hotel Overview

The Ollerod is set in the heart of beautiful Beaminster and surrounded by stunning countryside. This 700-year-old former priest’s house is steeped in history and character, offering award-winning accommodation and dining.
This charming property offers traditional design with log fires in centuries-old inglenooks, stone-mullioned windows, oak beams and candles. The house maintains its original façade and has stylish, modern interiors.
The pretty rooms offer contemporary décor, lots of light, Italian Frette bed linen and bathrooms with Lovegrove Essentials toiletries available on request..
The restaurant, which has been awarded 3 AA rosettes, serves creative cuisine prepared with locally sourced produce.
Within easy reach of Dorset's fossil paradise, the Jurassic Coast, during your stay you can explore many sites of natural beauty, including Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and Lyme Regis.

We have two four poster rooms with king-size beds, featuring a blend of Georgian high ceilings, cornices and shuttered windows with mahogany furniture and antiques. One of these rooms has a Philippe Starck walk-in shower and the other has a traditional bathroom with shower over. Please specify your preference when booking.

Superior Double or Twin Room - enter dates to see room photos

A choice of large bedrooms either in the 600-year-old wing of the building, with mullioned windows and stone fireplaces, or wonderful cottage suites with a mix of luxury bathrooms including a spa room and classic slipper bath. They overlook the stunning walled garden.

Deluxe Double or Twin Room - enter dates to see room photos

A mixture of country-style and contemporary rooms, along with one of the oldest in the hotel - 600 years (Room 3). Here lies the original priest's hole used by the clergy to escape capture! One ground floor room (5) has been designed with easy access for the less able bodied. It is soon to have a large walk-in shower. There are limited views of the walled garden, mostly overlooking the walled, private car park. Please note that the kitchen fan, which goes off entirely during the night, can be faintly heard in the rooms by those who are sensitive to noise.

Small Double Room - enter dates to see room photos

Providing free toiletries and bathrobes, this double room includes a private bathroom with a bath, a shower and a hairdryer. This double room features a tea and coffee maker, a seating area, flat-screen TV with streaming services, as well as wine/champagne for guests. The unit offers 1 bed.

First-floor room with a king-size bed and a standalone slipper bath with hand shower.

Deluxe Double Room - enter dates to see room photos

Room 5 very comfortable and lovely walk-in shower. Really good breakfast - lots of different fruits, cereals and yoghurts to choose from, in addition to cooked breakfast. Staff were pleasant and welcoming.

Excellent food, lovely atmosphere, wonderful staff. I stayed there during Storm Darragh which resulted in the power being down at the hotel for nearly 12 hours. Candles and battery operated lamps together with extra bedding were provided. Nothing was too much trouble.

Breakfast was exceptional with a delicious choice of fruits with cereals and unexpectedly, a free choice of extras to go with the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs ! Wonderful croissants too!
