Location is extremely convenient being central on Battle high street. Choose room at rear if possible because the high street traffic can be intrusive. Free parking is a very welcome bonus. Gentleman JD was very caring when I asked for extra bedding, he provided additional quilt and offered/delivered a heater -it was very cold during my visit. I really appreciated the kind thought. There is no lift. I was offered and shown 2 options as a solo traveller. I chose the third floor for the view over the higgledy piggledy rooftops of old Battle. Also a lot of lovely shops and eateries close by so I didn't miss the lack of breakfast or bar. There is a fab Italian restaurant on site - I had the seafood linguine- another bonus because the staff were very kind and attentive. I met with family and we all had a lovely time there. I suggest you try it. Cleanliness is top and every basic need is catered for including tea, coffee and shower necessities.

Lovely old building, in keeping with the town. Really quirky room, with sloping floors due to its age. Looking out onto the high street, which was a lovely touch. Nice and warm, even with a huge original window. Clean. Enjoyed our stay, amazing location.

The location was ideal and met my needs, Parking was easy and the member of staff at reception was very helpful and polite. The room was adequate for my needs, clean, with an on suite bathroom, TV Coffee /Tea making facilities and a heater. There was a socket within reach of the bed for my CPAP machine and the room was nice and quiet. I would use the property again, should the need arise.

A substantial Georgian hotel with a splendid oval spiral staircase. It is right in the centre of Battle, so excellent location. There was parking for guests out the back. Our room was of a decent standard. But this is now a budget hotel, so no frills at all.

The George Hotel is in a perfect location right in the heart of Battle, everything you'd like to see such as the Abbey is a short walk away and the room itself was incredible value for money considering the location. Very welcoming and helpful staff, a very pleasant stay.

Staff were super friendly and accommodating. Loved my attic room with a view of the setting sun. Great spot to set up my laptop and work. Spacious bathroom. Enough room for yoga in the morning!
