Central to Battle. Warm room we could adjust the heating by radiator thermostat. Clean room good quality bedding en-suite. Fresh cafeteria coffee with quirky cups a lovely touch! Although on a main road corner the room was very quiet and we enjoyed a good nights sleep Room instructions in a folder in the room ie how to work the internet TV breakfast prices etc

The room was over the pub bar and near a roundabout, but the room was very quiet! Convenient location for us in Battle Excellent free car parking

Location was perfect- right by the high street. Staff were super accommodating, they even gave us some extra condiments to go with our late night chippy order. Really generous and friendly. Breakfast was lovely

Room was ok, Could of done with a touch of colour & a few touches of TLC,Overall it was nice enough, Sloping floor that if you were worse for wear you would have been in trouble but what do you expect from a 500 yo building, Staff were pleasant & food was to a good standard..

Our third stay at Chequers and thoroughly enjoyed it. We came from London to eat the amazing sirloin steak. Chris, the chef definitely cooks the best steak I’ve ever had to perfection. We got to meet him this time and we told him that although we’ve stayed on three occasions I’ve actually had his steak 5 times in the last year. The front of house staff, Lina and Kirsty were lovely and welcoming, both looked after us so well 10/10 ladies x I love everything about this inn from the squeaky floors to the amazing artefacts . Room 2 is my favourite. Bed is so comfortable. Thanks guys. We’ll be back soon. xx

The pub is a lovely old place, really nice atmosphere, fantastic food. Don't let the state of the building put you off staying. With the best of respects it needs an external look after, and the rooms are a landlord special but! It is clean and ideal for a stop off while en route. Staff are great
