Inns Overview

Wheelwrights Arms Country Inn & Pub is situated in the peaceful village of Monkton Combe, surrounded by picturesque hills and valleys. The property is recommended by the Good Pub Guide and Michelin Guide.
Please be advised that our pub is currently closed, undergoing a full refurbishment. We plan to re-open the pub in mid March 2025. We will open a small section of the pub for a continental breakfast to our guesthouse customers each morning. We can also recommend alternative local pubs for you to visit for your lunch/dinner.
All accommodation types have free WiFi, a flat-screen Smart TV, tea/coffee making facilities, solid oak floors and Cotswolds views.
Menus are changed regularly and include light lunches and a la carte selections. Local ingredients are used where possible. You can relax with a drink by the open fire or in the garden.
The historic site of Bath city centre is just a 5-minute drive away. Tickets can be arranged for all Bath rugby home games from September to May. There are 7 lovely walks within the Monkton Combe valley, and narrow boating can be enjoyed on the Kennet and Avon canal which is 1 mile away.

The room was great, the bed very comfortable and cosy. I also appreciate the fact they reached out to me to check on me knowing I had done and ultra challenge the day before. I thought that was really kind and considerate.

The room was comfortable and cute. Bedding was so soft and loved that there was a bath. The area is lovely and quiet with lovely scenery. The host is kind and a wonderful person. Very helpful. Parking is a bonus.

From the moment I drove into the car park (on my arrival) to the moment I checked out yesterday nothing was too much trouble from the owner, Jack. Jack made me feel so welcome. His knowledge of the area made my chosen walk into Bath easy to get to.He made sure I had everything I needed for my weekend stay. I would highly recommend staying at The Wheelrights Arms Country Inn. I will definitely be returning. Keep up the good work Jack 😀

We went with my husband to celebrate his Birthday. Evrything was perfect, really beautiful small village not far from the city center (by car) 1h walk with scenic views, beautiful room, excellent service, excellent breakfast made by Jack, and a really kind gift for my husband. I recommand this place for the lovers of the British countryside and we will be going back to visit again for sure
