This is an unusual and beautiful hotel. Extremely peaceful and in a beautiful part of the city near to the centre. The staff were exceptionally kind and pleasant, and the breakfast very good.

Friendly staff, excellent location in city center. Hotel used to be a prison! Small but comfortable rooms - ours had a wonderful view over the city. Nice restaurant in hotel.

Charming hotel in a quiet and restful elevated position directly above the centre of the town and yet extremely close to everything. Beautiful courtyard and an onsite restaurant with very good food. There is a lift from reception that takes you directly down to the main streets. Very good value for money. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel staff were very good, knowledgeable, and very helpful. If we needed information on where to eat, or setting up our wifi, they were there to help! The most comfortable bed I've ever slept on!! Great location for sight seeing, and shopping!

The staff were most helpful and we were given a Basel card with museum discounts and free public transport. Our room was very comfortable. The hotel is in a beautiful old building - great atmosphere.
