Overnight stay for work trip, very nice country location. Staff were polite and helpful, the bar food was decent and good breakfast. The room was a little dated and needed some TLC but overall good value stay.

Communal areas downstairs were lovely. Beautifully decorated, especially Dickens’ Bar area. Great staff- absolutely lovely. Very friendly accommodating and helpful (especially Dawn and Louise). It was my friends birthday smd they brought her a chocolate semi-Fred o with a candle in it! A very sweet gesture! I actually spontaneously hugged Dawn as she was so nice! Lovely lady at reception (whose name I didn’t catch) carried my friend’s vet heavy bag upstairs because there’s no lift. The food was incredible! We ate in the hotel the entire time and it was all delicious. The breakfast was superb - buffet continental and waiter-service full English, flawless. Wonderful service from Dawn each morning. Produce used was local and exceptionally high quality.

The food in the restaurant was fantastic, the staff were extremely helpful. Unfortunately the rooms let it down, we stayed in a superior room which was far from clean, cobwebs everywhere, a thick dust everywhere above eye level. The bed smelt sweaty and the door did not fit properly, a huge gap under it and only held shut by a very flimsy yale type lock. This wasn't as bad as the bathroom door which did not either lock or close at all! There did not appear to be any differences between the superior or classic rooms. If the rooms were improved it would be an absolutely fantastic venue!

All staff were really friendly and the hotel had a relaxed feel. Lovely room- spacious and well- decorated. Dinner was well cooked and presented. Dog was welcomed. Spa was lovely.
