Le Catalan is a hotel located in Banyuls sur Mer, just 500 metres away from the marina, a 10-minute walk from the village centre and 5-minute from a seaside creek. The restaurant was good for dinner. The breakfast buffet was all right. Perhaps a little expensive for what was on offer, but not by much.

Our second visit to this particular hotel and everything was as expected. We had booked a room with a sea view for our grandson; he was given a mountain view instead but he was quite happy. Breakfast menu extensive. Walk into Banyuls was good exercise!

1960’s build hotel. Well situated. Amazing views of Banyuls. Good car parking. Comfortable room with balcony with sea view. Clean and new air con. Good breakfast with fresh fruit. Friendly, helpful staff. Enjoyed our stay and would go back.

A beautiful mid-20th century style building and design with beautiful views to mountains and sea. A spectacular dining room with good service and a good set menu with a few choices at a reasonable price. The pool is great and the terrace comfortable and relaxing.

We first visited Banyuls nearly 50 years ago: and have visited many times since. It is a favourite part of France for us. We discovered Le Catalan about ten years ago and their position in Haut Banyuls is perfect. I had wanted to celebrate my birthday in style: and did! A view down over the small town and harbour, an exemplary meal prepared by a skilled chef. Thank you, Le Catalan. You delivered.
