They let us check in at 11pm, seem to always have somebody at reception at all times. Very very friendly (I think) Indian people! 1k deposit returned immediately at check out. Room and bathroom excellent, perfect for the average person sightseeing. Wow at the location, couldn't have done better. 3 min walk from train station, 10 min walk from nightlife on Soi Cowboy. Yes there is a weed shop nextdoor to the entrance yeah (just like the thousands all over Thailand), so if you want a polite family vacation and this upsets you maybe book somewhere 3X the price. But for a couple of younger guys who are still having a laugh in life, it's perfect!!! Definitely planning another stay here asap!

A last minute booking as due to a Booking.com error. A pleasant surprise, small, probably 40 rooms in retro style but very clean and comfortable and friendly staff was the cherry on top.

Helpful staff. Clean room. Very sufficient amenities. Great location close to public transport, shopping and plentiful variety of meals just a minutes walk from Retro 39.
