Room was very clean, clam and Air-conditioned. It is equipped with all amenities including a spacious shower-room with hot-water as listed. Weather in the area is very pleasant and actually night stays does not require A/C. There was a small balcony for the room with a table and two chairs. The dinner we had there was enjoyable. The staff was very friendly, caring and helpful. They have a café and so fresh bakery items are available apart from the main meals they serve (they served us two freshly baked muffins when we leave as a gift. It was tasty). Highly recommended as a perfect place for a night stay. Located near the main road, so easily accessible.

We chose the place to take the train to Ella the next day. The host family is so loveable. Viraj provided us with food deliveries and recommended good restaurants. The room was clean with beautiful view into the forest. Finally, he drove us to the train station. Thanks!

Our stay at Crystal resort was really great and the best part was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Viraj and his family were amazing hosts and assisted us with all our needs. The room was clean and the view from our room was also beautiful.

The perfect place to stay for a peaceful stay before getting the train to Kandy. The location is slightly outside Badulla (10 minutes by tuk tuk) and has a lovely view of the valley and the train passing by. They have a tuk tuk so getting into town is very easy. Communication was excellent throughout. We ordered food in advance and Viraj kindly collected it for us which was delicious. They made us the best mango juice we had in Sri Lanka! The room was perfectly clean and comfortable but what made this place special was the warmth and kindness of hospitality we received from Viraj and his father. They made us feel so at home and went above and beyond to help us with anything. Wish we could have stayed longer just to spend more time with them!

This is not a resort in the usual sense, it’s a b&b style studio apartment underneath a family run cafe in the hills just a few minutes out of Badulla. Your main reason for visiting, outside the peaceful location and balcony views, will be your young host Viraj, who manages your stay and is delightful and extremely responsive on WhatsApp, nothing was too much trouble for them - few people naturally have the gift of hospitality but Viraj is one of them. The room itself is basic but new and clean and comfortable and perfect for our one night stay. Viraj can organise transport and dinner at your room (the pizza was good,we were ready for a novelty after a long stretch of great regional food) and at breakfast the fresh baked treats from family were amazing - see if you can get a fish patty before they sell out, and the fruit juices were excellent. We wanted to be outside the Ella tourist area for our 1-night stay off the train and this suited us perfectly, not sure we will ever be back in Sri Lanka hill country but if we were would happily return and I recommend to others looking for a friendly and great value stay.
