“Maledives-like accommodation in campsite-style for backpackers on the lagoon”

If you want the feeling of an all-inclusive vacation on the Maledives, but are not the type for a luxurious and pampering accommodation, then this is the right place for you. It is a very nice and quiet spot to relax on the coast of the lagoon 15mins by car/taxi (150-200 pesos) from Bacalar city. You stay in simple rooms or tents in straw houses. You can relax in hammocks or sit in plastic chairs on the lawn right by the coast under straw gazebos. And of course you can swim and enjoy the swing in the water. You can order good Mexican food and if you come at the time of the full moon there is even a campfire at night.

Amazing location, right on the lagoon. Perfect for sunrise. There is no kitchen but you can cook on the fire (if you manage to light it), we grilled tortillas on it and people were baking potatoes in aluminium paper. I had read in the comments that showers were not clean but they were when we were there - of course not perfectly clean, but that's a camping)

Beautiful setting at the water front, with some tables, hamocks, and a place to swim in the blue water. You could get some food and drinks. Hot water, fridge. Some food was quite decent.

really good place if you look for a place to stay on the lagoon with reasonable price. Foods were great and really reasonable!
