Mattes “Mixed bag / good sea view rooms”

In the room category "Double bed seaview" I had a spacious two-room suite with two balconies and a very good bathroom. Yes, parts of the hotel are neglected. Yes, the management is clearly operating on a minimal-costs policy. The minibar is empty. There are small stains and holes here and there. The casino next door is closed. In my building (Green House, 4 floors), the elevators were out of order. However, the compound is huge. It has a tennis court, a small football field and a volleyball court. All neglected, but they exist. The garden area is huge and offers easy stairsways down to the ocean to swim. Also, the hotel's pool side is massive. It overlooks the sea. I paid around 70 EUR per night (without breakfast) in 02/2025. Not possible to get a better seaview room at this price in Girne. Internet was good. Parking space available (thanks to the closed casino). Around 18minutes walking time to the city center. A taxi station is right next to the hotel entrance. Staff are fluent in English and mostly in Turkish, too.
