In Avranches, a good base 1/2 hour away from Mt St Michel. Stunning dining room. Nice little enclosed garden.

Clean, comfortable room with tea & coffee making facilities. Car parking on-site. Friendly and helpful staff. This was our second stay this trip.

Dinner at La Croix d'Or was absolutely outstanding. Excellent menu, good selection of wines and attentive service. Great location for stopping off on the way south from Cherbourg and visiting near by Mont St Michel. An easy walk in the centre Avranches with off street parking is a bonus. Whilst I would say the room was average, the historical nature of the main part of the hotel and the superb food mean I would stay time and time again.

The restaurant looked good but could not accommodate our group of 8 so suggest booking well ahead. Good car parking.Very nice gardens in the hotel grounds. The staff were very helpful.
