Gaiety and elegance are the two words which automatically spring to mind to describe this magnificent 18th-century chateau, a listed building set amongst exquisite French gardens and parkland.
Ever since becoming a hotel in 1976, Audrieu is a fine example of good taste and the symbol of the French art of living. Period fireplaces and furniture give a personal touch to this ancestral home. Stay in one of its suites and rooms, some of them with original wainscoting, and enjoy a combination of luxury, space and comfort.
Treat yourself to superb, innovative cuisine in the gastronomic restaurant. For your utmost pleasure, the hotel also boasts a design bar serving light dishes as well as salted or sweet "croques en bouche" to go with your drink, served inside or on the terrace.

Certain rooms are in the attic and feature sloping walls and exposed wooden beams and the others are located on the first floor. Two of the standard rooms are situated in the pavilion 10 metres from the chateau with views of the garden.

This spacious room is situated in the former apartments of the chateau and has period furniture. It has a private marble bathroom and a view overlooking the park or main courtyard.

Fortunately we travelled by car so the hotel was in easy reach of Bayeau, Caen and the Normandy beaches. The food at breakfast was good and the quality of the food in the restaurant was of good quality. The hotel was in good order, clean and most of the staff spoke good english.

Everything about the Chateau d'Audrieu is wonderful - from the very warm welcome at check in to all the little extras in the room. Luggage taken care of upon arrival and brought up to my room. Valet car parking. Tour of the Chateau on the way to my room. Bedroom was very large and very comfortable - I was able to spread out which I love doing when in an hotel room! The gastronomic restaurant was excellent - a special mention to the person who worked there. He was on his own and did everything perfectly with a large smile on his face all the time. Well done! Breakfast was also wonderful. A very large choice of things to eat and drink including freshly prepared hot dishes. Check out was also smooth but, of course, sad to be leaving!! Thank you to everyone for my brief but memorable stay.
