Lovely building which needs a great deal of maintenance (inside & out), to return it to its former glory. Room was ‘ok’ish’, though mattress was so soft there was no support - resulting in back ache. No restaurant services though advised bar snacks were available. (Did not see anyone in the bar at any time - customers or staff). On the day of departure at 8.15 am, the building was still locked up - no staff to be seen. Good location with local shops, cafes etc close by.

This hotel is the kind we love, a gracious old historic hotel that is full of stories but very comfortable and in the best part of Auckland ..wonderful walks, ferries , food , atmosphere...price..

The hotel is very well located, just on the wharf, which makes it one of the best place to stay if you’re using the ferry. There’s also plenty of spots to park overnight.

Friendly staff upon arrival, helpful and quick service. A lovely place to stay. We appreciated being accommodated by staying in a ground level room because my husband is vision impaired. We would stay here again.
