Loved our stay at Maison Escher. The apartment is lovely and roomy with a small kitchen but functional kitchen with table and chairs and a clean and up to date bathroom. There is no lounge however when we were at the accommodation we were either sleeping or sitting out on the balcony taking in the view. In our apartment there was 3 air conditioning units 1 upstairs room, 1 in kitchen & 1 in bedroom. There is a free washing machine downstairs and you get to hang your clothes out on the line like a local. The apartment is close to the piazza but there are stairs, many stairs so think about the size and weight of your bag because you’ll be schlepping that thing up and down those stairs. Book a porter to help with bags if you’re coming in by ferry to Amalfi ask your host to help with booking. You can walk up the stairs to main road or down the stairs to the piazza and beach. Atrani is an amazing town to stay in with enough restaurants to try different offerings each day and close 15 walk to Amalfi but a world away front the hoards of tourists that visit Amalfi each day. FYI about coffee in Italy, most places use UHT (long life milk) so unless you’re used to that it can taste weird. The little cafe called “Caffe Vittoria” in the Atrani Piazza offers Barrister made coffee with fresh milk and lovely fresh pastries, paninis & breakfast. All the restaurants are worth a visit in Atrani, we especially enjoyed Savs and Le Palme but we ate at all of them. The man at the grocery store and also the lady at the fruit shop are just lovely. Our host was amazing! Very responsive and helpful with intros and guidance with various tours and restaurant and taxi bookings. Despite being busy with a new born baby. At lunch try the little restaurant at the top of the stairs on the way to Amalfi and also the restaurant perched out on the point both these offer wonderful views for and bite and drink.
